These boots are made for walking

"Walker Texas Ranger" is Clint's new nickname for Noah. Toddlers do look like cowboys walking all bow-legged! He's been toddling around the last week getting hang of his walking skills. He used to laugh the entire time thinking it was the funniest thing ever. Now he just does a proud smirk. Sorry its not the best light for a video, but here ya go:

I took him this week to get his first pair of real "toddler walking" shoes, not those flimsy baby ones. I felt like it was a rather momentous occasion, and had fun picking his first real shoes. He missle locked on a pair of sandals and said "please please" and tried to put them on himself. He loves them. I must say, they are quite the walking sandal, and they fit his chubby little feet. :)

So cute! I love baby shoes! When do you find out if you're having a boy or a girl...or are you going to find out?

Man! I've meant to write you since you first found out you were expecting baby#2, but here I am. So, first, Congratulations!!!! Having two is wonderful and horrible (-: It's the most difficult and most rewarding thing I've ever thrown myself into. Way back you asked about what it was like have two at 22 months apart. Well, I don't know exactly, but Atticus and Dietrich are 19 months apart, and they do "just fine". Atticus has loved his brother from day one. Now that Dietrich has opinions and can get around and 'talk" and laugh and such, their relationship is better and worse than when Dietrich was tiny-tiny. I told Brad their interactions have increased 70%(ish) but their conflicts have increased 40%. So there's that whole challenge. Nonetheless, they do enjoy each other even now when Dietrich's just under 9 months and Atticus is just under 2 1/2. I am pretty exhausted most the time, but it is mainly because Atticus has sleeping difficulties and my body's dealing with this third pregnancy. The latter is more draining than "merely" caring for two boys. Whenever I get discouraged that I don't give Dietrich as much attention as Atticus had, Brad says, "Of course, you don't. It'd be impossible, but Dietrich has a brother and so it's all good." And he's right. A forever ally and friend. And also, there is the sheer joy of knowing this new person more and more each day. So, anyway, I just wanted to say:
1. "huzzah" to you and Clint
2. I read your blog a few days a week and so enjoy being a part of your lives
3. Congratulations to Noah on his big kid shoes
4. Two children close together and young are a difficult "row to hoe" but the fruit, at the end of the day, is sweet. (-:
