Daily Questions

Every day Noah asks to listen to the"Wheels on the Bus" "Sicka" (what he says for music) and he finds every circle in the house imaginable and rides his bike along to the music. I think I've heard this song over 1000 times, but I still find it cute.
Autumn watches him go round and round with great interest
Isn't it funny how all kids find the "circle" in every house?
Noah also finds a way to ask to use a "screwdriber" every day. If a battery is dead he says "oh, get screwdriber!" Today he helped daddy fix something on the wall, and was so excited to use one for real.

And every day when Autumn wakes up from her morning nap he'll ask to climb up to wish her good morning. And he'll say "Nuh nuh's awake! Noah climbs, hi Nuh nuh!"

Sitting Pretty

I've learned how to sit!
But even a small breeze can blow me over

6 Months

At 6 months Autumn is becoming way more aware of her world around her. She laughs almost every day at something Noah does (usually funny sounds or if he dances) and she reaches out to pet our cat Tobi. She also loves to be tickled! I can't believe a half a year has gone by already!

Here are some from her 6 month photo shoot on her future big girl bed :)

To celebrate her half year I took her for her 6 month checkup. In SA you only get well baby checkups at 6 months and a year, so this was a pretty big one!

I love our pediatrician, Dr. Roos. He's just amazing. Autumn is in the 66th percentile for weight and height, so just a little bigger than the average baby. :)

So what does your dad do?

This last week Noah was with me in the cry room when Clint got up to preach. We were listening to the sermon for a while, and he said "Daddy talking, Bible" and then my favorite line "Daddy preach, daddy preach Bible, God." It's so fun seeing him put his little world together piece by piece. He knows what his daddy does now!

Crinkle bum

There is something so cute and squeezable about a baby's bum in overalls. I think it's the crinkle of the diaper underneath it all. We are going to start potty training Noah next week, and I think I'm going to miss the crinkle quite alot.

It suddenly turned spring, and my "storm lilies" that only bloom when a storm is coming all "voted" that rain was indeed coming, although there was no cloud in the sky.
I had some fun outdoor time alone with my daughter today in the spring air. While having a toddler running around sometimes I miss the moments of just staring at my little baby....so I took the opportunity during a long Noah nap to enjoy her a bit. There is something just SO facinating to babies....the feeling of grass. She loves it just like Noah did at this age.

Then we played a bit of "horsey" which she always loves. It was a fun afternoon!

"Noah swims"

Today Noah saw a plane and said "go gramma's house, noah swim....one two three jump!" Noah was asking to get back on the plane so we could go to gramma's house to swim! :) So I showed him the pictures of him swimming, to his great satisfaction.

Every day daddy would come home from studying, and Noah would ask him to take him swimming

And he'd count at the edge to 10 all by himself, and yell "JUMP!"
And the whole time pronounce "Noah swims!"

5 months!

Autumn is now 5 months and brings us joy every day! She loves to cuddle with anything soft (unlike her brother, she's a girl for sure!)

You'll always find her on her tummy. She immediately rolls to her tummy even if I put her under a mobile!
Her favorite food are carrots, sorry no smile here, but she smiles alot when she eats!
She rolls off her blanket every day onto the cold hard wood floors. She rolls over and over and has started "schooching" backwards a bit.
My favorite time with her is bathtime, I get the best smiles from her, and Noah likes to rub soap on her tummy and in her hair which makes her laugh.

She loves watching her brother's cars go round and round
Two shots from my "5 month" photo shoot, which was in the states!

Friends & Fam

When people ask what I miss about LA, my usual response is "family and friends." And its totally true. Everything else is "replaceable" but relationships with people really aren't! There were so many people we wanted to see and didn't even get to see them all! But here are a few photos from our trip to LA....

Noah got to hang out with the Niednagel kids and Kali May while we got to hang out with thier parents!

It was so fun seeing Heather the day before she moved to Washington, we caught her just in time!
I spent a morning hanging out with Merilly and Noah and Adeline got to paint. Now Noah is addicted to painting and paints almost every morning with me at home.

Marietjie came down for a whole weekend and hung out with us, it was very special to have her fly down just to see us!
Mariejtie always has thought provoking things to say, Autumn contemplating them :)

We got some sunglasses for Noah while in LA, which he is now inseperable from.
Madison Johnson turned the big 1 while we were there, it was so fun meeting her little face in person!

Plaza fellowship at Grace was great fun seeing old friends
I love how small Autumn looks with tall Andrew!
It was fun seeing "married" Vicky and Andrew!
And my whole family came to meet little miss Autumn. Autumn with her great Aunt and first girl cousin (once removed!)
The boy cousins
great aunts uncles and cousins!
and the "4 generation" photo, although this is my dads mom it still works!
